1. Introduction
UpCredit, LLC (“UpCredit,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of LV Collective Management, LLC. UpCredit provides rental payment reporting services designed to help tenants establish and improve their credit history by furnishing verified positive rental payment data to the three nationwide consumer reporting agencies (“Credit Bureaus”): Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information. By using our services or visiting our website (the “Site”), you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
UpCredit does not collect payment data directly from tenants. Instead, we receive limited data from Entrata, our property management system (“PMS”) and system of record, which securely stores your rental account details. The data we process may include:
- Tenant identification details (name, address, lease ID, property ID)
- Rental payment status and transaction history
- Lease start and end dates
- Unit and property details
- Limited account reference or success identifiers for data validation
We do not collect bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive identifiers directly from tenants. Such data remains securely stored and managed by Entrata.
3. How We Use Information
We use this information only to:
- Report timely rental payments to Credit Bureaus in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- Validate and reconcile data from Entrata to ensure accurate reporting
- Handle disputes or corrections as required by law
- Maintain operational and compliance records
- Provide support for opt-out requests and account inquiries
4. How We Share Information
UpCredit shares limited tenant data only with:
- Credit Bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion)
- Entrata, as our secure system of record and payment processor
- Service providers who support secure data transfer, validation, or compliance operations
We do not sell or rent personal information. Any sharing is limited to what is necessary to operate the UpCredit service.
5. Data Storage & Security
We rely primarily on Entrata’s data security framework for the handling and protection of tenant data. UpCredit’s internal storage is limited to anonymized success logs and data necessary for reconciliation and compliance.
We employ:
- Secure transmission protocols (STS/SFTP/API)
- Access controls based on least-privilege principles
- Regular review of system access and compliance audits
6. Opt-Out Rights
Participation in UpCredit’s credit reporting program is voluntary. You may opt out at any time through our website or by contacting us via email or mail.
Opting out will:
- Stop future reporting of rental payments to Credit Bureaus
- Not remove previously reported data from your credit history
7. Data Retention
We retain furnishing and dispute records for a reasonable period, consistent with our FCRA Furnisher Policy, typically not less than three years, or longer as required by law or legal hold.
